In honor of it, we created GRIT—a program to help communities heal and rebuild after trauma.

Developed by the Lyda Hill Institute for Human Resilience at UCCS, the Greater Resilience Information Toolkit (GRIT) is a free resilience training program that helps communities recover from trauma.

Created during the pandemic, this self-guided, evidence-based program strengthens relationships, supports networks, and helps individuals recognize struggles while using their resilience to uplift others and build collective strength.

As a leader in resilience research, the Lyda Hill Institute continuously refines GRIT to maximize its impact and support GRIT Coaches in creating meaningful change. Through GRIT, UCCS is helping communities across Colorado—and beyond—face life’s challenges and build a stronger, more connected tomorrow.
